This new 3-story hotel sitting on a previously vacant corner lot adjacent to the oldest surviving residential structure in Miami Beach develops its own identity while being mindful of not detracting from its illustrious neighbor. The building is a play of soft transparencies and opaque patterns that are superimposed on a relatively simple structure. As it reaches the corner away from the Browns Hotel, the building becomes its own as the corner glass elements anchors the intersection.
The window patters, horizontal glass railings and metal screens re-interpret traditional 1950’s modern elements.
